Beforefathers' Eve

An ironic take on two classic texts of Polish theatre: Mickiewicz's Forefathers' Eve and Wyspianski's The Wedding, Wojciech Kuczok's play is a grotesque comedy. A present-day Polish family proud of its noble lineage gathers at a séance to summon the spirits of ancestors, notably the ghost of the family’s progenitor, great-grandfather Octavian Alfonse, affectionately known as Okt-Alf.
