The Lost Art: The Guitar

October 1923. A mysterious guest arrives at Witkacy's villa in Zakopane, introducing himself as the art dealer and collector Mieczysław Sierpski. In a suitcase filled with works by various artists, he also has a print by Pablo Picasso, "Guitar" – which he leaves with the host as a token of gratitude for painting his portrait. Thanks to Witkacy and Władysław Strzemiński, the work ends up in the Municipal Museum of History and Art in Łódź, named after J.K. Bartoszewicz. The final sequences of the film show the destruction and looting of the Museum's exhibits by the Germans in 1939. Picasso's "Guitar" has never been found.
