A peasant leader from the Beskid Mountains establishes a settlement in the Regained Territories just after the war. Together with the peasants, he builds a school, a brickyard and a sawmill. The communist comrades are trying to force him to agree to give away their social property to the general public. There is a dispute over the power of the people.
