A seventeen-year-old daughter of engineer Zaremba is brutally murdered in his villa. Rita Gorgonowa is accused of the murder – she is Zaremba's lover, housewife and nursemaid. The woman is brought to trial. In addition to that, she is severely criticized by the Polish public opinion of the 1930s.
