A twenty-year-old man, after recuperation in the mountains, comes to Warsaw. He hopes to start a literary career. He lives in a cluttered room together with gipsy poets and students. Poor and ambitious young people of the turn of the twenties of the 20th century want to block the feeling of an upcoming disaster using alcohol and jokes.
