Jurand, a knight from Spychów, is a victim of the Teutonic Knights’ revenge. Young Zbyszko from Bogdaniec falls in love with his daughter Danusia. Romantic love and paternal tragedy are shown in the film, the Polish-Teutonic war is the background of the story. The Battle of Grunwald (1410) is the climax of the war.
