The 1st of August 1994: residents of Warsaw pay tribute to the insurgents by lighting candles on their graves. The remains of General Tadeusz Bor-Komorowski, the commander of the Uprising, return to Warsaw. A parade of Uprising veterans takes place on Pilsudski Square. The German president apologizes and asks for forgiveness on Krasinski Square.
