50 years ago Polish soldiers died at the Monte Cassino. The anniversary of this event is celebrated on the 18th of May 1994 at the foot of the Monte Cassino Monastery in the cemetery of Polish soldiers. Despite the heavy rain, President Lech Walesa and Prime Minister Waldemar Pawlak came there to commemorate the fallen.
