The Act on Value Added Tax of the 8th of January 1993, introducing the so-called VAT (Value Added Tax), becomes effective on the 5th of July. It happens in an atmosphere of chaos and general misunderstanding of the rules of the act. This year’s ekstraklasa league ends with a great scandal – by the decision of the Polish Football Association, Lech Poznan wins the championship.
