Early in the afternoon on 26 August 1992, next to the railway line from Racibórz to Kędzierzyn-Koźle, a forest fire started. About 10 thousand people participated in the action. The firefighting action lasted until 30 August, and extinguishing of the fire - until 12 September. 2 people were killed and 50 were injured in the fire. In total, 9062 hectares of forest were destroyed.
