The 1st of May is celebrated across the country. There is no parade this year, but people are spontaneous and enthusiastic. Mass meetings are often organized: in Silesia, in Cracow, in Wroclaw, in Gdynia. The most important people from the party and from the government could be seen in the stands in Warsaw. Gomulka makes a speech. ‘No withdrawal from the Polish October’ is the most popular banner.
