The first congress of the Polish United Workers’ Party. It takes place in the rebuilt building of the Warsaw University of Technology. On the 15th of December 1948, quarter past ten a.m., Boleslaw Bierut announces that the Polish United Workers’ Party has been formed. The Internationale is sung. Another ship is launched in Gdansk. The name of the ship is ‘Jednosc Robotnicza’.
